Billy Ray Was ‘Surprised’ By Miley Cyrus’ Vanity Fair Photos
Miley Cyrus’ dad, Billy Ray, recently spoke out, for the first time, about his daughter’s now infamous photo spread in Vanity Fair.
He told “Today” he was surprised after seeing the riskay shots. “I was surprised,” he admitted, “but stuff happens, that’s life.”
Billy Ray says, “It felt like everything was in control,” Cyrus said of the photo shoot, “Her publicist was there … I didn’t know they were going to strip her down and wrap her with a blanket.”
And as far as the photo he took with Miley that many felt looked more romantic than fatherly, Cyrus laughed it off saying, “I’m sorry if I offended anybody … that’s just a daddy who loves his daughter a whole lot.”

What happened here is that Annie Lebowitz chose, as an adult, to sexualize a 15 year-old child to further her career, and the child’s parents went along with the act to further their child’s career. As a parent of a daughter I can say that I would have had viewing rights and editorial control before publication and would have threatened prosecution on child ponography charges if you had published my daughter’s pictures like that. Obviously no one in this case followed this chain of thought or action. Case closed.
did anyone even look at the photos? I would hardly call them child pornography. It was a 15 year old girl’s back. Whoop-de-doo. You can see worse on myspace or going to the mall and let me tell you, those myspace girls *do* mean it in an entirely sexual fashion. Our culture is so quick to cry witch that we have to second guess art. There are real pedophiles out there, let’s worry about them and not some bubblegum popstar.
Why can’t we just calm down about the pictures Miley was in. Everyone makes a mistake every once in a while. It’s really none of our buisness what Miley does. She deserves a break from all the stuff that people give her. She’s 15. The pressure is back breaking. I support her as much as Billy Ray does. Leave their family alone like you would any other family.
P.S, Leave her alone. Would you people like it if you were in a photo shoot comletely naked and I put, “Look, one of our own has taken a completely nude photo, he/she just lost this job.”. Think about it.
This picture is so beautiful!!! People with mess up mind make it look like its wrong….This is a loving father and his dauther!!! People who talk dont really like them self leave her alone… Look in the mirror first!!!!!
