52-Year-Old Woman Sues Victoria’s Secret For Defective Thong
A 52-year-old woman has filed suit against lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret recently, claiming she suffered an eye injury after an allegedly defective “low-rise v-string” flew apart and struck her in the eye.
The piece in question was a part of Victoria’s Secret collection called “Sexy Little Thing.”
“I was putting on my underwear from Victoria’s Secret, and the metal popped into my eye,” Macrida Patterson told TODAY’s Meredith Vieira on Thursday (June 19). “It happened really quickly. I was in excruciating pain. I screamed. That’s what happened.”
The incident took place in May 2007 while changing in the looker room at work — she’s a traffic cop. She says she drove home despite considerable pain in her eye. The next morning, she says, the eye was so painful she had to go to the hospital.
“Macrida suffered three actual cuts to her cornea,” said her attorney, Jason Buccat, who joined Patterson for the interview. “It left some severe damage, to the point where in order for it to heal, she had to take some topical steroid.”
Wow, this is a first to us. Never have we heard of a thong causing injury. It’s quite funny. Not her injury, but the fact that a thong caused all the damage.
