Blogger Faces Serious Charges Over Leaked Guns N Roses Tracks
A small-time blogger from Culver City, California was busted recently, with five FBI agents storming into his apartment, all over a few leaked Gun N Roses songs on his site.
Kevin Cogill was hit felony charges, when he posted nine leaked songs from an unreleased Guns N’ Roses album, which has been in the works for more than a decade, on his music blog in June. With the exclusive unheard tracks, his site crashed under the traffic, and he removed the songs after a few hours when the Los Angeles-based rock band’s lawyers complained.
He faces up to three years in prison and $250,000 in fines. On Wednesday (August 27), he became the first Californian charged under a 3-year-old federal anti-piracy law that makes it a felony to distribute a copyrighted work on computer networks before its release.
“In the past, these may have been viewed as victimless crimes,” said Craig Missakian, an assistant U.S. attorney in Los Angeles. “But in reality, there’s significant damage. This law allows us to prosecute these cases.”
DMX Busted By Police In Miami
DMX was arrested Thursday afternoon (August 14) in Miami after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest earlier this week for failing to appear.
According to reports, the rapper (real name: Earl Simmons) was picked up by Miami PD outside a Wal-Mart, and hauled him down the station.
DMX’s lawyer, Charles Kozelka, said that the rapper had checked himself into a Miami hospital the day he failed to show in Phoenix and was planning on entering a rehab facility afterward, reports the Associated Press.
Those plans didn’t pan out, however, due to the warrant, the Kozelka explained, saying that he had been trying to arrange for DMX to turn himself in at the airport.
A Phoenix judge issued the warrant for DMX on Tuesday (August 12) when the rapper failed to appear for a pretrial conference on four counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of marijuana.
It is one of many cases X faces in the state of Arizona.
‘40-Year-Old Virgin’ Actor Arrested For Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
Shelley Malil, the indian actor who appeared in “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” was arrested recently for investigation of attempted murder after his former girlfriend was stabbed more than 20 times, said reports.
According to the Associated Press, the actor remains in custody on $2 million bail after being taken into custody on Monday (August 11).
His ex-girlfriend was in critical condition Monday. Her current status is unknown.
Wow, talk about fatal attraction.
Hayden Panettiere’s Dad Accused Of Being A Woman Beater
The father of teenage “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere was arrested early Monday (August 11) on suspicion of hitting his wife, authorities said.
According to the Associated Press, Alan Panettiere was arrested by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies in West Hollywood, jail records show, and remains jailed at a substation on suspicion of spousal assault, and was being held on $50,000 bail.
No further information was released.
Shia LaBeouf ‘Not At Fault’ For Recent Accident
After all the drama and talk surrounding Shia LaBeouf’s recent accident and DUI arrest, authorities have determined that the actor was not at fault.
In a statement, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said detectives have determined that the other driver apparently ran a red light, and will also be cited.
“He was not at fault,” Whitmore said of the LaBeouf.
Too bad for Shia, a bad driver got him caught for a DUI. Bad luck, eh?
Shia LaBeouf Busted For DUI In Hollywood
Actor Shia LaBeouf, star of “Transformers,” was arrested early Sunday morning (July 27) for a DUI, after being involved in and causing an accident in Hollywood.
According to TMZ, at about 3:00 a.m. Shia made a left turn in front of another car and the two collided, causing Shia’s car to roll.
Both the actor and the other driver were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Shia will need surgery on his left hand. A passenger in Shia’s car sustained minor head injuries and the driver of the other car sustained minor injuries as well.
Authorities cited LaBeouf and he was released on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI.
‘Dark Knight’ Star Accused Of Assaulting Mom & Sister
Dark Knight star, Christian Bale, is getting a lot of attention this week and it’s not because of the movie. The actor was arrested Tuesday (July 22) for an alleged assault.
It wasn’t just some random person he got mad at either. Bale is being accused of assaulting his mother and sister, police and British media said.
We’ve found out that he spent about four hours at a London police station before being released on bail. However, after finding out about the complaint on Monday, police did not question him until Tuesday because they didn’t wanna interfere with the “Dark Knight.”

DMX Arrested … What Else Is New?
We just can’t keep up with this guy, which is why we’re a day late in posting this news, but so what.
Anyway, DMX was arrested, once again, on Saturday (July 19), at a Phoenix mall, for something he did back in April. What was it? Well, allegedly, he checked into a hospital complaining of chest pains, but he gave a fake name, address, and social security number. Why? Because he says he didn’t want the bill.
“He’s back in jail again,” Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio told the AP. “I don’t know why judges keep letting this guy out. Every time he goes in there, he gets out on bond … I’m hoping this is the one time he’s going to pay the penalty for his offense.”
This guy needs help, big time. He’s been arrested so many times over the past few months, we lost count.
Andy Dick Arrested For Drug Possession & Sexual Battery
Andy Dick was arrested in Riverside County on Wednesday (July 16) for investigation of drug use and sexual battery.
According to reports, the 42-year-old comedian was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot near the Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar in Murrieta.
He allegedly pulled a 17-year-old girl’s top down and groped her breasts. After cops were called and responded, they searched him, and found weed and xanax in his pocket.
Dick was booked, and later released on $5,000 bail.
TMZ reports that Dick was drunk and belligerent, and his friend he had been at the bar with left him there.
UFC Star, Rampage Jackson, Busted For Hit And Run

Former UFC lightweight champ, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, was busted Tuesday afternoon (July 15) after cops chased him down, guns drawn, and ordered him to the ground, reports TMZ.
Update via TMZ: Rampage was on the 55 Freeway in the O.C., hit two cars and got off the freeway. The chase was on. He then began driving on the center divider. But it gets worse. According to the police report, Jackson then drove on the sidewalk, “causing pedestrians to flee for their lives.” He started driving the wrong way on a crowded street, colliding with yet another car in an intersection. As he continued on, running several red lights, his tire disintegrated and he began driving on the rim.
Rampage eventually got to the exclusive Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach, where he again drove on the sidewalk, “causing pedestrians to flee in terror.”
Eventually, his car came to a stop and he was taken into custody at gunpoint. Cops took him to the Orange County Jail, but they determined he was “medically unfit” to be booked. Cops won’t say if he was high. Rampage is currently in an O.C. hospital.
