Universal Studios Catches Fire

Early Sunday morning (June 1), reports of a blaze came in from the Universal Studios film and TV studio.
According to reports, a sound stage caught fire, resulting in the blaze damaging the stage, movie sets and a video vault containing 40,000 to 50,000 (those videos are copied though, and the studios said they could easily replace them).
Los Angeles firefighters managed to battle the blaze and contain it to one structure — the “King Kong” exhibit.
“A total of five structures within the New York exhibit, including one sound stage, were lost,” L.A. County fire inspector, Frank Garrido, told Reuters, including an area depicting New York City.
The MTV Movie Awards will also tape today at the Gibson Amphitheater, which was not affected by the fire, and is expected to continue as scheduled.
