Tom Brady’s Ex, Bridget Moynahan, Talks Heartbreak After Breakup
Model-actress Bridget Moynahan revealed recently during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar that she had a “traumatic time of being heartbroken” during her pregnancy she broke up with the baby’s father, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
“When you’re suddenly pregnant and no one is standing by your side, even if you’re in your 30s, it’s a hard conversation,” she said. “I’m a traditional girl, and I believe in marriage, and I just always thought that’s the way I’d be doing this. For a moment, it was hard for me to accept that this was the way I was going to have a family.”
“I’m not sure anyone — and I could be wrong in this — grows up thinking, ‘I want to be a single mom,’” 37-year-old Moynahan said.
The couple broke up after a three-year relationship with Brady, who is currently dating supermodel Gisele Bündchen.
She gave birth to the pair’s baby, John, in August, and gave him her last name.
“I walk in and just started sobbing,” she said, referring to when she comes home, alone, with her son. “All of a sudden, you have this newborn you have no training for. It’s frightening.”
Despite her sadness, she says, being a mother is worth it. “It’s golden and it’s tough and it was f***ed up. But now I have a child, and it’s the best thing in the world.”
